Edusoft

   EdTech
Edusoft was a provider of assessment platforms for public education in the United States. The company offered assessment management system, which enables school districts, administrators, teachers, and parents to track student performance on state standards through three kinds of tests, such as state exams, district benchmarks, and in-class teacher tests. Edusoft was acquired by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH).

Edusoft successfully transitions to HMH with support from Dunton Consulting, Inc.

Challenge

Following acquisition by HMH, Edusoft operations were to be transitioned to HMH. This transition included all customers, code base, operations, processes, integrations, and documentation. The goal was to execute the knowledge transfer in roughly one month’s time.

Solution

HMH contracted with RoundBox Global, an EdTech software development company to execute this transition. RoundBox Global contracted with Dunton Consulting to provide Business Analysis for the transition. Project managers, information architects, business analysists, software developers, and QA analysts arrived at the Headquarters of Edusoft in San Francsisco, California to stay on site for a month of knowledge transfer and systems transition.

Result

Following an intense month, Edusoft was successfully transitioned to a distributed run team without disruption of over $15 million in revenues annually. Dunton Consulting then provided project management services for Edusoft; leading a distributed Agile team of information architects, business analysts, developers, and QA analysts for three years following the product transition. While supporting the existing customer base with Edusoft, new assessment platforms were developed using more modern extensible architectures allowing for a smooth transition path without customer disruption.
